Description

A journey from Persia to Punjab,  samosa has its origins in Persia (modern-day Iran), where it was originally known as the "Sambosa". It was made with minced meat and spices, warpped in a triangular shape and deep fried. This savory snack made its way through trade routes to India and was embraced by various regions with their own local twist. In Punjab, the samosa evolved to reflect the region's bold and flavorful cuisine. Potatoes , peas , and aromatic spices such as cumin, coriander, hing ( asofoetida) , red chilli and ginger became the key ingredients of the filling, making it a vegetarian treat.
